But the taxes are inevitable - BA collect these and they are such things as landing fees at the airports, taxes imposed by governments and so on. Even if the fuel surcharge was removed, and I agree that really it's a bit naughty, the taxes would remain.
Nonetheless, these flights remain superb value if you use your miles wisely.
Voting with your feet I cannot quibble with at all - as you so rightly observe, the airlines won't change the program unless people leave...
I expect to pay taxes and airport improvement fees... BUT these so called FUEL surcharges are just over the top.
Fuel has and always will be a cost of doing business. They realize that the cost of fuel makes the news on a daily basis so the media does the PR for them. The airlines are taking advantage of the market situation.
Just add the cost to the base price of the ticket... simple as that!
When it comes to FFP tickets no extra charges except goverment taxes and airport fees... simple as that!
