A student friend of mine with no status with KE has to go on two long flights on her way back home to Japan. Both aircrafts are B744s.

Looks like the flight from CDG to Seoul is overbooked, this is the flight on July 4th at 9.20 pm. She has no seat assignment. Is it better that she does not get a seat assignment until check in? Is there any chances that she might get op-upgraded to C if the flight is overbooked?

Never been on any of their longhauls (or even shorthauls) so I have no idea of how she could try her luck. She is a great kid and I would like to make sure that she will have a good trip on both KE flights back to NRT.
