My spouse (a lowly premier elite) requested an update yesterday and 72 hours before the flight checked for confirmation. There wasn't any. He called a UAL rep and was told that -no- upgrades are confirmed prior to the flight. That UAL now waits till people check in at the airport to see how many will pay for an upgrade and -then- then do the other upgrades. She told him this change was made about a month ago. Anyone else experience this change in the benefits for flight status. The rep also told him that this was true regardless of status - GS, Ik, everyone.
