Flew CVG-MIA at 9AM yesterday, only my 3rd DL flight of the year. Granted, its a Tuesday in mid Sept-but I was still surprised by the lightness of the load considering I believe it is the first flight of the day to MIA from CVG.

There were actually 16 total pax, I believe 6F and 10Y, of the 6 in F, three were wearing DL/Comair uniforms and thus I assume non-rev.

Are there many flights this light lately or did I get lucky to have two FC seats to myself?

It seems to be a real hit-and-miss (as it usually is as we go into the Fall season). It appears that most of the wide-bodies and trans-con are filled pretty well, however that the 733/MD80's to shorter routes from the hubs are not. Traveling to-and-from SLC to sourrounding cities (Missoula, Kallispel, Boise), I would say 1/2 full on average these days; To the West-Coast 2/3 - to 1/1 full.

However, FC is almost always full, I can count on one hand this year where I have had an empty seat besides me, and on two hands when I have actually seen any empty seat in FC this year - all the "vancancy" seems to be in coach.

In October 2001 I was coming back on an MD80 from MSP-SLC with 12 passengers, 8 of whom were in FC!
