I would actually take issue with the OP's title that he 'pulled a Jeffrey Simpson'. I think that in this case, his piece was reasoned, well written & it was clear to me that he wasn't trying to scam an u/g or be treated any differently than any other pax - he just wanted to get home. Unlike Simpson's drivel, IMO this doesn't qualify as rant.

If I were in his shoes, I'd be equally PO'd - especially given the attitude of the GA in YYZ-T2.
