Overhead space did not seem to be a big problem on any of my A330 flights this week. Both (3?) flights were full, but there was no last minute scrambling to find overhead space. On our second departure from DTW, I put my bags right over my seat and left the front of the bin for the FA since her bag was sitting on the floor, and had been there on the first outbound. She did not put her bag up until we were pushing, and the space was still there (and she said thanks). There was also space on my return over rows 29/30 where I was sitting.

Without status, keep watching the seatmaps after the 24 hour mark and hope that someone gets moved or cancelled. With only 8 good seats, it is tough to get even with status.
