Vulgar activity coming from contractors by ORD RCC in B

Ok, so I select my favorite area in the ORD B RCC (near B1) lounge back in the corner away across from the elevator which is usually prett quiet. As I was sitting there I hear loud voice from what appeared to be a construction crew on the other side discussing various sexual acts that they should be performing on their female friends. Ok, I have been around and dont mind a little vulgarity but this when on for about 5-10 minutes and so I really thought it was time to let them know that people lived on this side of the wall and with the parents with children moving because of the content I thought a little tapping on the wall would let them know that people could hear and they might want to tone it down or clean it up. I apparently did not tap hard enough as it continued in even MORE graphic detail. I then tapped a little harder, someone replied what the F do you want, I said there are people sitting on this side of the wall that done care for the conversation. The reply I got was, "must be a f'in white guy causing problems"......to which I replied you are correct and the problem will be solved.

I then talked to someone at the club desk she then came and did overhear them discussing how much they hated white people (as if any other race of people would find this ok so that is just them being rude and race is not important to the conversation except in their use of it). She then talked to them, and after overhearing them once again discuss how they hated certain people, I invited them a couple of times to come to my side of the wall to discuss. They continued to bang excessively on my are of the wall to show their displeasure but that really didnt bother me. I just felt there is no room for this kind of thing in any environment.

Was I totally wrong to say anything? Have I become a prude? Moving wasnt a great option as there really isnt much of anyplace to sit and I like this spot. I am open to listening to any mistakes I made in the situation but I just felt this was a disgusting way for people to act and had no intention of letting it continue.

I am opent to peopls thoughts on the issue.
