Given that the flight was only delayed by 15 minutes, I probably would have gone to DCA and taken the chance, because:

1. Most connections in DCA can be made in 5 minutes, as long as you don't end up in the small set of gates where you need to catch a bus to get to the shuttle gates. It looks like 3334 was scheduled for gate 35, easily within walking distance of the shuttle gate area.

2. DCA-BOS is a shuttle flight and those typically don't have their door closed until 5 minutes before departure instead of the usual 10.

Of course, that's me; there may have been many good reasons for you to not want to take the chance of having to overnight in DCA.
