This was the response I got. Looks like they're getting ready to sink their teeth in...
Sounds to me like they are "concerned for your safety" LOL. That is the line they usually give for why you must get all the proper permits, and have the guide and jeep to accompany you on your journey. And of course they want your money. Permits are usually quite expensive and is a piece of paper you may never even see. Sounds like to go the legit and legal route might be quite complicated and expensive.
