~4-5 years ago I did Tampa-New Orleans overnight in a sleeper car. The restaurant car was a sit down, tablecloth, menued and it did offer 2 sittings (somewhat similar to a cruise). There was a choice of 3-4 dishes, free drinks, etc.... I was somewhat impressed by the quality.... ^
Can't remember if there was an individual AC/Heat control....
but there were 110V reseptacles for a laptop/DVD player.
Overall it wasn't a bad experience and during the outbound I was able to "upgrade"

to a family suite with the conductor once we passed Jacksonville. That was "sweet"....
