Record time to JFK (and other NYC airport transportation tidbits I feel like sharing)

I know this probably is not of interest to that many (if any) people, but I just wanted to share.

I saw Losers Lounge performing Abba at Joe's Pub on Friday night -- a great show which ended around 900p. Hoping to catch a 1040p flight out of JFK (the last flight from NYC to BOS), I hopped in a cab on the corner of Houston and Lafayette shortly after 900p and told the driver I needed to be at JFK in 45 minutes (I really had more time, but I make it a habit of never telling a cabbie how much time I actually have!). I was a little drunk, so I don't remember the exact routing, but I think we went right on Allen, left on Delancy over the Williamsburg Bridge, onto the BQE to the LIE to the Van Wyck. I was at JFK in 27 minutes, which I think is my fastest trip ever!

While we're on the topic of NYC airport transportation (or while I'm on that topic), Sunday night I flew back into LGA and took the Q33 bus to Jackson Heights. At one of the terminals, a woman, traveling by herself, boarded the bus with four -- yes four -- suitcases, two of which were larger than many NYC apartments and two of which were carryon size. The bus driver was nice enough to open the back door for her and wait while she lugged all of these suitcases up the stairs. When we arrived at the Jackson Heights subway, I bolted out of the bus and into the subway, but I cannot imagine how this woman was going to get all of this luggage into the subway (assuming that is where she was going). What a nightmare!
