There's a real chance that it won't. The overhead bins really aren't very big - or, more importantly, deep.

But I don't think there's any restriction on you taking a bag out of the cupboard during the flight to get things out or put things back in. It's not like it's out of the way; it really is just a cupboard at the rear of the cabin by the galley area.

In any case, why don't you take out the things that you think you're going to want, before you put the bag away. Do you have a window seat or an aisle? If an aisle, you can then use your overhead bin space to put them into (there isn't a lot of storage space in the seat itself). If a window, use the storage space between the seat and the sidewall - they are brilliant.
