I fly 75% of the time and only carry on my laptop...even if its a 2 day trip I CHECK my larger bag...only takes 10 minutes on the other side and I don't have to worry about bin space.
4) Also I agree about the people who crowd around the boarding gate several minutes before its their turn to board...TAKE A SEAT AND WAIT!!! IMHO these are the people with 2+ (I thought 2 was the limit) carryons and are worried about bin space...did I say CHECK IT yet?

I'll check nothing as long as the current asinine TSA baggage policy remains in place.
Fortunately, any time I need more clothes than will fit in my regulation-sized carryon I mail them ahead via USPS/UPS/FedEx.
Meantime, my laptop bag is always with me and my regulation-sized carryon is only handed off plane side on a RJ. Otherwise, it's with me too.
