Was the PIT-ORD a codeshare on US? maybe that is where the problem happened.

If not you should be able to contact customer relations and get a refund if the limit is indeed 70 lbs. I don't have the address but you can get it off the web.

Thanks. The PIT-ORD flight was a United flight, not codeshare. It's UA 6780. Checked in at the United counter also.
