My wife & I flew SIN-SYD-SIN on SQ in late March/early April on tickets purchased from SQ 3 months in advance. The cost was just over $600 for each of us, approximately half what it would have cost us to book on any other carriers at the time. The cost to book the SQ segments through NW would have been even higher -- I did give the NW Elite Line a change to book that whole trip but they weren't even in the ballpark for the jog to SYD.

Did you look at booking the SQ segments directly on their website?

My relatives in SEAsia fly SQ and don't pay unreasonable prices for travel on short notice. They make money on those who can plan ahead as well as making money on short notice travellers.

Nevertheless, I'm still annoyed I could've saved about $300 towards a shopping spree! :-)
