Just found a page on FirstUSA.com's website (the folks who used to issue United Visa cards before Chase took over). They list seven(!) different kinds of United MP visa cards: Platinum Class Visa card (ouch! $140 annual fee), Gold Class Visa card, Signature Visa card (this is the one I just got), THE ONE Card (which appears to be more of a generic Chase card than a United MP card), Rewards Gold Visa card, Platinum Business Card, and College Plus Visa card (for students).
Yowza...lots of options there.
I think the next one I apply for will be the Gold Class Visa card (another 20,000 miles for signing up, plus 2500 "anniversary miles" - which I assume is an annual incentive to keep you). Yeah, they ding you for an $85 annual fee, but I suppose I shouldn't complain given all the miles I'm scooping up. I think I'll apply for this one on the 1st of July, and will be watching my MP account carefully for all those new miles (44,000 and counting, from 2 cards and Netflix).
Thanks for all the tips & suggestions!
The "ONE" card is left over jargon from Bank One. Its actually a debit card. Not to bad really, $1:2mi, standard vouchers are included and 2500 bonus miles. I think mine had a $25 annual fee, which i got chase to waive.
