Welcome to Flyertalk !
I can see this is your very first post, and you have also posted your report on at least 3 other forums on FT. Crossposting is not allowed on FT.
While I symphatise with your wife for falling ill in JB, I do feel you are not realistic with your expectations of a hotel that regularly charge under MYR200 (USD55 or SGD85) per night.
45 min wait for room : this is quite common for many hotels anywhere in the world, including those with room rates 10X the Hyatt Regency JB. If you were made to wait 3-4hrs I could understand your frustration, but 45min ???
Food Poisoning : did your wife eat some street food during lunch ?
Medication : Theres no excuse for the Duty Manager to be rude but its unrealistic for you to expect a 3 star hotel to be able to dispense medication without a qualified medical officer. And why do you need a Duty Manager to deliver medication to your room ???
Clinics in JB : I am surprised you have chosen to leave JB without confirmed transportation in the middle of the night just to seek medical treatment for your wife's food poisoning. If you cant even trust the clinics in JB to treat food poisoning, why even bother visiting the place ? I can understand your concern if its brain surgery, but food poisoning ???
Room Charge : Your wife was suffering and yet you were willing to allow her to suffer while you argue over your final night room charge which should not be more than USD55 or SGD85 !!!
We all know the Hyatt Regency JB is a dump. But what makes your report an interesting read is your level of
kiasuness rather than the service level at the hotel
