This hotel is a total disgust and horrendous with their outrageous service! I've made an online reservation for my stay from the 14th June to 16th June 2006. Which also indicates that I'm writing my comments here immediately since I've returned from my horrific trip.
Upon reaching the hotel, we were nonchalently told that our room has not been ready despite being prior informed that the check-in time is 2pm. My wife and I ended up waiting 45 MINUTES for our room!! The worst has yet to come... please read on...
During our first day there, we did not spend much time in the hotel as we have decided to walk around Johor Bahru town. So there isn't much to comment on until our second day when we planned to lounge in the hotel to enjoy some suntanning and a nice dinner.
Our nightmare began on the 15th June 2006(thursday), after dinner. We had the hotel's buffet dinner and about 3hrs later my wife is down with very bad food poisoning! At 1am in the morning of 16th June (Friday), I called the hotel's night manager on duty, Mr. Zainal, and told him of our situation. The kind of service this guy has been providing, HE SHOULD BE FREAGGING FIRED!!! He informed me that the whole hotel do not even have simple medication for vomitting and stomach discomfort, and he has been so rude! Like i'm disturbing his napping time or probably he has been watching the world cup on TV. My wife at this time is already feeling very nauseous and has vommitted a few times. This really bad manager, Zainal, offerred some medicated oil which I readily accepted. HE DID NOT EVEN SENT UP THE MEDICATED OIL PERSONALLY AND ASK ABOUT MY WIFE'S CONDITION! THIS IS HYATT HOTEL FOR GOODNESS SAKE!! IS THIS THE STANDARD WE EXPECT?! Nevermind on that one then... instead he sent up someone from room-service. I monitored my wife's condition awhile longer and decided that its very serious and she has to seek medical attention immediately. However, after what has happened, my wife is skeptical of Johor's standards and refused to consult a doctor there. Besides Singapore is just a causeway away, we've decided to check out at 2am from the hotel back to Singapore. So I informed Zainal, the night manager to prepare for our checkout at the counter. Upon reaching the front desk, ZAINAL DIDN'T EVEN ATTEND TO US! I had to tell the front desk receptionist to get him out. Then I ask him why didn't he attend to us personally and he gave me THIS LAME EXCUSE THAT HIS OFFICE IS ACTUALLY BEHIND THE FRONT COUNTER!! CAN YOU GUYS BELIEVE THIS?!! I told Zainal that I refuse to pay for my 2nd night at the hotel because I did not actually stayed for that night and after what has happened which is caused by the hotel, I have to check out at 2AM IN THE MORNING BACK TO SINGAPORE. But this bloody manager Zainal, instead of readily accepting fault in this obvious situation and check us out efficiently so that my wife can seek medical attention, he stood there and belligerently argue with me that I should pay for BOTH NIGHTS!! GEE THIS IS ABSURD! He did not show any urgency at all while my wife was sitted crouched over in the sofa in front of the counter which he can see! He did not even ask how my wife is doing! Instead he seems to be purposely taking his time talking on the phone to whoever, trying to get approval for not charging me for the 2nd night. In the end I won't argue with him any further because of the agony my wife is in, I still ended up paying for half the night!! C'mon, its a bloody Hyatt, a world-reowned luxury hotel, is this how you treat your guests?!!! So after I signed the bill, he just shoved me my bill and went straight back inside his office!! I have to carry all the luggage myself and at the same time support my wife out the main lobby entrance. HE DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE WHATSOEVER! The hotel driver who is supposed to bring us to Johor downtown, so that i can get a taxi across the border and causeway, saw that I have all my hands full and didn't help either!! When we reached downtown, the driv[er DID NOT EVEN STAY TO MAKE SURE THAT WE'VE SAFELY SECURED A TAXI. HE JUST LEFT US THERE BY THE ROADSIDE WHILE I HAVE TO HUNT AROUND FOR A TAXI AND MY WIFE WAS SITTING ON THE ROADSIDE CURB, CROUCHED OVER, SUFFERRING IN AGONY FROM FOOD POISONING BY JOHOR HYATT HOTEL AND INTO HYPERVENTILATION...
I am taking the effort in writing this comment because I do not wish to have anyone else sufferring like we did. DO NOT EVER GO TO JOHOR BAHRU HYATT REGENCY HOTEL...
