Ryanair does not fly to CDG but to BVA, which is 90 miles away from Paris. This will cost you time and money to make transfers between the airports. Look into flying direct from CDG on other airlines (Air France, Alitalia) before you finalize your plans.
Excellent point. You'd be much better off going over London than Paris - no airport change, and plenty of cheap fares on BA and British Midland if you're so inclined to purchase.
But, instead of purchasing stuff into and out of Italy, shouldn't the OP be able to book JFK-LHR-VCE / FCO-LHR-JFK (availability pending, of course)? Or if spending time in Paris, at least book JFK-CDG / FCO-LHR-JFK?
