According to the article, they do use a good hollowpoint round. The Speer Gold Dot.

Dunno how it (Speer GDHP) works in .357 SIG, but it's my personal choice in 9mm (well, in 9mm I carry the +p variety, which is quite redundant at the .357 native velocity).

I'd be all about "big and slow" rounds (think .45) in that environment, but I've also never considered the ramifications of ammunition versus the airplane in that much detail before this thread (of course, I don't think the upper echelons of the FAMS have either.....).
