Interesting how the value the liability of the unflown miles. Surely as BA are in control of the # of reward seats ever made available at any time in the future the liability is what they want it to be?

And surely reward seats are normally only made available on flights where BA's forecasting computers estimate there would be empty seats anyway?. So the costs to BA of miles redemption would be very small. However, if any rewards seats are made available on flights where it would be expected to sell that seat then of course there is a lost revenue aspect to account for.

I still would think that the liability value is whatever number BA wants it to be.
