If Choice Hotels has a promotion (which is happening now until Sept 1) it is often better to take the points instead of the 0.5 credits. Right now if you stay twice you earn 8000 points. If you earn 750 points the first stay, the second stay you would earn 7250. Otherwise if you took the credits you would earn 1 credit opposed to 3 something. Just a thought.
