My upgrades have been going through automatically, even for a flight I booked on the old website (in Sabre I imagine). I usually get an email at about 11am when they go through. I got one yesterday for my PHL-SJU flight, row 1 on the 330 looks good to me
When this works, and hopefully this will be always, it is fantastic. A big improvement from the old US way of doing things. I wish though that they would send you an email if your UG doesn't clear saying something like "you are still waitlisted good luck."
I still haven't been able to login to the website though, it is amazing to me that they haven't fixed this yet.
