The old building was completely remodeled when the tower was built, so the same technology is now in the old rooms, and the same quality of furnishings. However the room and suite layouts aren't the same as in the tower and are definitely a step down. But you don't have to worry about being short-changed in terms of old furniture or tacky wallpaper, it is every bit as good. And you can still get a harbour view at the pool. If your first stay was in a corner suite, you will miss it; but the price difference is understandable, making the old rooms a relative bargain. However the Pen is quite good at upgrading returning guests, though 1 stay may not quite be enough for this; you might find yourself back in the same room as your first stay, no matter what you book.
