Staying at the Peninsula Hong Kong in one of their suites in the Tower for a couple of days prior to a week in China.

On my return I was think of saving a few dollars and choose the Superior or Deluxe Suite in the original (or old) part of the hotel. The cost is half that of the suites in the Tower. I appreciate that you may not get the good views given the 6th floor is as high as it goes.

Does anyone know if there is any other major downside like noise, old furniture, run down furnishing, etc.

In short, are the rooms in the original part of the hotel a good deal or not worth the money they charge ?
