You know, I still rember flying from SF to LA for fifteen bucks on the late and much lamented PSA. And, you got free peanuts!
Anyhow, my "solution" as discussed on another thread earlier, is to drive too fast on Interstate Five. Five hours door to door is competitive with flying at the current (over) pricing.
gas at approx. $3.50/gallon AND parking at your hotel AND tolls. AND a hefty ticket if you actually do drive too fast.
SF isn't a city where I want my car.
