Crown Plaza Dulles Airport (IAD) Herndon Master Thread
Just had a stay here.
As the front desk person mentioned to me, I was put in the new section, 7-story "tower" at the rear of the property.
Ended up on 5th floor.
Room was extremely clean as was the bath area. sure did look like a recently renovated room.
Bed was VERY comfortable with nice natural fabrics, a little amenity kit was on the bed, it contained ear plugs, eyeshade, lavender spray to freshen the linens if desired.
Whoever designed the room could have left out the cutesy wallpaper border at the ceiling and put in some crown molding.
AC was a powerhouse unit and cooled down the room in no time. It is a window/wall unit so the noise of it could be a problem for some. I guess I expect a better class of hotel like CP to have an internal wall or ceiling unit which is generally more quiet than the window/wall units.
No room service menu was present, there is a Hoolihan's opening soon attached to the property.
Other food options within a block of the hotel include: Wendy's, Taco Bell, Starbucks (there are some others but I forgot which ones)
Free internet and printing from 3 PC's in the business center on 1st floor, just use key card to enter.
Large parking garage attached to the rear of the property which would be nice in inclement weather.
Being the cheap guy I am, I liked the fact that when I went into downtown DC, I was able to go towards the airport which is only a few miles away then do a U-turn by the rental car areas so I could head downtown in the non-toll lanes.
