CO has a Z-fare SEA-MIA via IAH that prices out at about $550. Every other carrier is at least $300 higher for First, and the UA QUAUP fares out at more than $1100. So, it would seem that CO is winning the lowball F fare-war on certain transcon routes. But you are right, it makes little sense that EWR-SFO is big $$$, twice what CO is, and at the same time, EWR-OAK is much much less.
What the heck, fly in to OAK next time - it's actually a slightly shorter trip into SF, providing the Bay Bridge traffic isn't awful. Of course, you take the same risk from SFO on 101N.
