I have felt this was recently too and I don't have the Chutzpa I once had. I really can't put my finger on why.

I generally don't tell my parents or kids where I'm going if it isn't business related because I don't what to hear why I shouldn't or "hear it" for some other reason. Generally friends know, so I can leave an itinerary with them. Other than take my cell phone with me and check in, I don't do anything else.
