Is your luggage being transferred? The only downside of the tube is that it can be a bit of a hassle if you have big bags.
If you happen to just miss a Gatwick Express, take the next Southern Train to Victoria Station (London). It takes only about 5 minutes more than the Gawtick Express, runs every 15 minutes and costs a several dollars less (
