Tuesday night at the Sheraton Towers in NYC the Gold/Plat line saved a lot of time, but it's one of the few properties where I can recall seeing it staffed or separated from the main desk.
Westin St. Francis in San Francisco also has a separate area and queue for their Gold/Plat line. But honestly, that's one out of I don't know how many stays in many cities where I've ever seen it used.
