Whew! Thank goodness for people that like window seats. I cannot fly if I am in the middle or window seats. When I get bounced to a window or middle I will even stay overnight and take a flight out the next day. I am 6'4" 225# and have extremely wide shoulders (with a very trim waist ) so getting stuck in the same position with the feeling like I am roped down for over 45 mins is way more stress than I can handle.

Though I prefer having laptop storage space in front of me, in the past 3 or 4 years people have begun slamming their seats back and I end up with cut or seriously bruised knees, so I've taken to trying to get the bulkhead seats.

I have to ask, why are people being such buttheads about slamming their seats backwards? Two years ago a schmuck did this and ripped my suit pants and cut my knee. I hollered "damn it!" and he made some denigrating response to me. I slapped him in the back of the head and hoped he would stand up and call me out in a fight. I would have loved the chance to put him down even if it landed me in jail. Instead he cowered in his seat and signaled an FA. I showed her what he had done on top of making a nasty remark when I hollered in pain. She leaned back and told him "I think you had that coming!" and walked back down the aisle. ^
