If you're arriving into SFO on UA1650 or UA1652 (the 605AM and 7AM departures from LAS) then the MCT is 50 minutes. There are other exceptions, but I didn't go through the entire list.
Because I asked her to.

Actually, the CSA suggested this. We didn't argue. I didn't demand that she override the computer, call for her supervisor, write a nasty letter, etc. In fact, I changed the itinerary today and the CSA I spoke with noted that it was a short stopover but didn't say it was wrong. Again, no argument, harsh words, etc.
They are on UA1650 which arrives 45 minutes before the connecting flight to SEA. Of course, if it arrived 20 minutes prior, then there's no way I would have booked the flights. But a five minute difference? I figured they could handle it.
In any event, if they don't make it, like others have said, they will be able to make it on the next flight although that one doesn't leave for a few hours.
I just thought I'd get the insights of other FTers who are more familiar with SFO. I really wasn't asking if it was a prudent decision and if they miss the flight by five minutes, then I'll know why UA insists on 50 minutes and not a minute less.
