I stayed at the Sanctuary in March for the fourth year in a row. Obviously I like it!
It is a very restful, secluded, private place to unwind. The way the rooms are laid out on the moutainside gives you a feeling of real privacy. I rarely even see other guests. I was in a "Mountain Vista Suite" which has a balcony, fireplace and living room. The suites are well worth it for the balcony and the gorgeous views.
When I first started coming to the Sanctuary, I thought the service was a little uneven. It's definitely improved, although still not quite to Four Seasons level.
I highly recommend the Sanctuary--I've stayed at the Phoenician as well and there is no doubt that the Sanctuary is a superior property.
The main downside is the expense, which is considerable.
