Forgot to add -- if you ever find yourself wanting/needing to go to Vancouver, either for a summer Alaska cruise, winter skiing at Whistler, or any other reason, the 60K mile award (Domestic/Canada Premium Class) is an EXCELLENT use of AA miles on the CX JFK-YVR flight. The westbound flight schedule is a bit inconvenient in the summer (better in the winter) but in all cases you get the full international service (including caviar on the outbound). Availability is usually reasonable, and if you can only confirm J, F usually opens up a few days in advance.
