I was watching the late night edition of Global BC TV's news broadcast last night (or was it Monday night?) and their travel expert, Claire Newell of Jubilee Travel, indicated that she's hearing that there will likely be possible changes to their flight rewards to combat competition from other loyalty programs like RBC Avion.

The gist of it was that the number of reward seats Aeroplan offers is around 15%, about double other reward programs. However, RBC Avion give access to all seats. Aeroplan will likely start offerring access to all seats also but requiring use of more points. I'm not sure if she meant it would be something similar to an expanded Avenue program or a full shot deal where all seats would be available but the required points would also go up across the board.

Has anyone heard similar rumours? I did a quick search of this forum but didn't find related threads.
