The only thing I can think of: over-high F fares from EWR-SFO might be there to force passengers into re-thinking their choice of EWR over JFK and p.s.? I know you are close to EWR, but if I'm Joe Non-FT Flyer from NYC and see that, I'm thinking: "Man, I used to
save money by flying from Newark! What fares do they have from JFK?"
