I fly this route often and the big advantage is that it is a 777 and the FC is configured 2-2-2 so that if you get the middle two seats, you can go in and out of the seat without any hassle. If you break up the trip (which I just did yesterday) and stop off in LAX or SFO, many times it'll be a 757 with a 2-2 configuration in FC. Not as comfortable, to be sure. I was on it yesterday and the guy in the window seat got up at least six times.

I don't know if it's worth upgrading with miles, however. Actually, I never upgrade with miles on any flight since I'd rather save 'em for flight awards.

With e+ seating, I generally look at the seat chart and get the middle aisle seat where I think there will be a couple next to me. Generally, if that happens they crawl over the person they know to get to the restroom. If you sit in the aisle seat on the side, it's guaranteed the person next to you will need you to move to get out of the window seat.
