Thanks to my decision to burn off most of my remaining AA miles, I also had my first (and probably last, unfortunately) CX F experience (SFO-HKG) last month. The FAs truly lived up to the hype and I was floored by the exemplary service. My only real disappointments were that, by the time the FA got around to my seat, the only pyjamas left were M or S, and I'm an L (of course, I still took an M) and that, owing to a mechanical problem, the flight departed SFO two hours late so that by the time we reached HKG I had to sprint to my BKK connecting flight (Gate 3 to Gate 33) and was unable to even peek at the Wing and Pier let alone relax there.
Also, as far as I could tell, the IFE films were playing on loops rather than being actually on-demand. I've experience the AVOD on the TG nonstop from JFK with stop, start, rewind, fast forward, etc., and the IFE on my flight did not seem to have that versatility.
The quibbles are, of course, very minor. The overall experience was truly memorable and one I would love to repeat someday.
