BTW, I'd be careful about using this approach with another airline because I vaguely recall coming across someone who DIDN'T allow you to automatically reprint your boarding pass. In that context it obviously wasn't about getting into a better boarding group, but trying to be first on the upgrade list.
That would certainly be a little heavy-handed. I've had a few situations where the printer jammed or I sent it to the wrong location on a network and couldn't reprint because the window closes automatically on some airlines. In that case you have to get a reprint.
