The tiny town of Yakutat in southeastern Alaska is remote, expensive and laid back when it comes to accommodating tourists.
Then there’s the cold and dampness. With low temperatures in the 20s for much of the long, dark winter and summer highs hovering around 60, it’s not exactly Ventura Beach. In October, the wettest month, an average of two feet of rain saturates the town.
