Depending on Certain Card

Now United Airlines card will give you FF miles for Balance Transfers

Most Credit cards and I say Most

You DONT earn on interest charges, balance transfers, cash advances, convenience checks, unauthorized charges, fees of any kind, purchases of money orders, wire transfers or traveler's checks, and purchases of casino gaming chips or similar purchases.
