21" width??? Surely you jest.

21" is the width of the BizElite seat on the Delta 777. I assure you that AirTran's 717s do not even come close to that.

The AirTran BUSINESS class seats have a width of 19.5" and a pitch of 35". AirTran's economy class is 17" and a pitch of 30".

In comparison, the Delta CRJs have a width of 17.5" and a pitch of 31".

The biggest reason why people find the CRJ's cramped is the low ceilings. However, once seated you have more personal space in a CRJ than in most mainline aircraft in coach.
