Unfortunately, the airlines think it's a good idea. I, however, believe it will lead to an upsurge in air-rage. When the airlines see the increasing frequency of having law enforcement greeting disruptive pax at the jetway, they'll most likely realize it's a bad idea.
That's because the airlines see it is an opportunity to put a surcharge on it, making it nearly as expensive as the in-seat phone.
