I remember standing in front of the concierge desk for quite a bit of time politely clearing my throat and waiting for the concierge to acknowledge my presence. He was too busy stacking newspapers to provide service. At the end one of the receptionists stepped out from the front desk and came to ask if she could be of assistance.
