And, BTW, I learned that this guy (In Fresno at least), is not TSA, just hired by the airport to check ID's and look at boarding passes prior to us getting into the security line.
I personally don't know of any ticket/ID checkers which are TSA. My understanding is that they work for companies hired by the airlines to do that particular job. Since I do mostly red-eyes, I get the evening shift at FAT. There's usually a lady doing the ID check at that time (and I'm usually the only pax in line
).
