I don't think anyone wants to make you feel defensive about it, just honestly trying to make sure there's no other cause.
Like the last time I thought I had food poisoning from a dinner on a Friday night...and the following Sunday night I needed the remains of my appendix removed. Sometimes what seems like food poisoning with a pin-pointable source isn't so obvious
