Standby from LAX to PHL instead of EWR?

I'd appreciate any help the board can give on this.

Mrs CO FF was supposed to fly LAX-EWR one day this week at 8:05am. She now needs to be in PHL for as much of that day as she can (this is all personal travel, so no reimbursement potential).

I'm pretty sure we can use the "confirmed standby" to route her LAX-DFW-EWR on a redeye departure (just after midnite that day). Please let me know if I'm wrong.

Now the questions:

Will we be able to route her LAX-ORD-EWR when the LAX-ORD leaves just before midnite?

Either way, once she's in ORD/DFW, will she be allowed to standby for PHL on a ticket to EWR w/o reticketing -- or only at the mercy of the GA?

If reticketing is required, would you suggest it's better to reticket the whole flight, or just at the hub airport? The key fact to this is that we are both supposed to fly JFK-LAX together on Friday; I was planning on linking the PNRs for upgrade once the 72 hour window opens.

She's GLD, FWIW in the sympathy dept., with 14k EQM YTD. So, solid flying, but not huge amounts.

Thanks in advance.
