The carts themselves weigh 200lbs each -- before you put anything in them! They are simply too heavy to log up and down a staircase by hand. Secondly, if you were to carry the carts upstairs, and turn them at a 45% angle to do so, do you actually think the food would stay nicely on the plates????

Im always amazed that when something goes wrong, its automatically the crew's fault. The crew had nothing to do with the decision on how the catering should be handled, and more than likely were embarrassed by the solution that operations came up with.
