Where are you flying from?

I mean, one thing you could do--just a suggestion--is to fly CO to DEL and then take one of the many discounters from there. I just throw in out there.

Of course another idea (wacky I know) is to take advantage of the recent addition of China Southern to ST. [FWIW, I haven't seen this PR posted anywhere else, so I am not 100% sure if it's true.] Maybe there is a way to fly from where ever you are to PEK through EWR, then switch to China Southern. It's probably going to take a few weeks before they figure out how China Southern will fit in. Here's the website; it seems that the airline does offer service to locations outside China. I just checked and China Southern shows service from LAX to Bangkok--don't know if it's a code share or what's up there. Anyway, if they are part of ST, there's a whole slew of new inventory for some intrepid flyer to grab. I have no idea if they have true FC or what it's like!

Have you checked into AF/KL? I believe KLM offers service through AMS to Thailand. Flying KLM may be an option too.

If you're keen for a true FC seat (as opposed to BF), you might want to check into the AF/KL idea. (By the way, Aeroflot is another option, but I hear folks have had challenges getting reward tickets--not ironed out yet I believe).
